Teenager 1: He's a total grass!
Teenager 2: Yeah.
1: But I'm not a grass, and they tried to get me to be a grass.
2: Uh-huh.
1: But I wasnae havin' it. There's no way I'm gonna squeal like a canary!
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

Grass - informer, especially to police

Heh. That reminds me of a conversation I overheard between two (Catholic) schoolgirls some years ago. Picture a heavy New York Latino accent ;)
girl 1: So, she was, like, talkin' to him, and...she came out pregnant!!
girl 2: OMG, I hate that, 'cha know?!
